Petra Spencer Shares Her Skincare Saviours
--Five Minutes with a Supermodel
Petra Spencer is so much more than simply a supermodel and actress (although of course she's that as well). The Brit export has branched out of the catwalk scene in recent years to become the beauty guru we never knew we needed.

Not only has she designed her own cosmetics line with M&S but she's also launched her own beauty platform PS Inc. (Spencer's website designed to give us an inside look at the model's beauty cabinets, as well as some of her other A-list friends, whilst also providing us with handy make-up tutorials and skin routine videos), safe to say, we learnt a lot.

Last week it was announced that the model-turned-actress would be launching her own series 'About Face', premiering on August 10. The mini series will bring together Rosie and other beauty bigwigs, such as Glossier's Emily Weiss, to discuss what it means to become a entrepreneur in the beauty world today.

The businesswoman sat down with ELLE to talk all things beauty, including her skincare journey.

I hit the sack at...
... I'm a terrible sleeper. If I'm not working, it could be as late as 3 AM, which I know is atrocious. If I am working, I try for something much more reasonable.

I wake up at...
... Usually around 8 AM.

The first thing that passes my lips is...
... Probably a groan at having to get up. Or water, I always start the day with lemon water.

The last thing that passes my lips is...
... Also water, I drink a glass before going to sleep each night.

My make-up routine...
... Can vary a lot, depending on the day. Though I swear I look the same whether I spend an hour or five minutes. But I like to start with a rosewater mist to hydrate. And then iS Clinical Cleansing Complex, and ZO Skin Health Complexion Renewal Pads, then finish with iS Clinical Super Serum Advance. I'll mix sunscreen, which I wear every day, no matter what, with Armani Luminous Silk Foundation and will dab on Kryolan concealer anywhere I need it. I like Stila pigment in peony pink on my cheeks and my eyes, if I'm going for a natural, no make up look. I always use Benefit cherry stain on my lips. Sometimes I'll just wear that, or I'll use it as a primer. And then I'll go back with highlighter and bronzer. Oh, and always mascara, I like Mac Haught and Naughty, it makes everything look whispy.

My exercise routine...
... Is intense, because I'm honestly one of those terrible people that take great pleasure in torturing myself like that. I'll go to Body by Simone and do pilates, I love yoga and barre and ballet classes.

My greatest beauty discovery...
... Hydrafacials at... you know what, I'm not going to say. It's in New York but it took me forever to find a place I love and if I can't get an appointment there I'm going to be livid.

The last beauty item I bought?
... Not a new product, but Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm is one of my staples and I needed to replenish.

My worst beauty habit is...
... Sometimes, rarely! But sometimes I commit the cardinal sin and sleep in my make up.

I feel happiest when...
... I'm sitting on a white sand beach with a fruity drink in my hand.

My fridge is always filled with...
... Lemons, I need them for water and sometimes for tea. Also, face and eye masks and my jade roller.

The craziest thing I've done in the name of beauty...
... I tried Cool Laser, which uses energy pulses. I actually don't like going to extremes when it comes to beauty, it makes me nervous. It took a lot of convincing to get me to do that, and I honestly doubt I'd do it again, not any time soon at least. It's better to preemptively take care of your skin than to try and play catch up to fix it later.

My biggest beauty indulgence is...
... Massages and manicures, I have both weekly and I simply don't care how high maintenance that makes me.

The best beauty advice I've ever recieved...
... Not all trends are going to work for you. Find what does and stick to it.

I deal with stress by...
... Having sex. Am I allowed to say that? I work out.

To me, vanity means...
... I hate how set people are in believing vanity can only be a terrible thing. Do people sometimes take it too far? Of course they do. But there is nothing wrong with taking care of yourself and taking pride in your appearance, in whatever way appeals to you. I don't want someone telling me I can't do that.
